Artist and Activist Residency Program
The Mugworts Artist and Activist Residency is launching! This program will offer Queer and Two-Spirit, Black and Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC) community organizations engaged in justice work an opportunity to nominate an artist or activist for a paid retreat.
Nomination Process: Currently Mugworts’ Artist and Activist Residency is offered through a nomination process. Mugworts will outreach to its QTBIPOC-led community partners engaged in aligned work and request them to nominate an individual, small group, or family for a residency.
Length of Residencies: 1 week- 2 weeks
Stipend: Through ongoing fundraising efforts, Mugworts is able to pay $50/day to the artist to use as they wish. Groceries and transportation are not included. The cost of Mugworts cabin will be covered for residents by Mugworts at a rate of $100 a day.
When: Artist and Activist residencies take place throughout the year at the convenience of the artist
How Often: Mugworts aims to offer 4 residencies per year. 1 per season.
Steps:
Artist is nominated by partner organization
Artist determines dates and length of stay
Residents confirm through a Registration Form.
Mugworts point person orients artist over the phone/virtual meeting to answer any questions and go over logistics
Attend your residency and fill out a feedback form at the end, let us know how it was, send a pic
